• Acts as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in instrumentation and control systems. • Provides consulting services across business units • Provides design assurance for I&C deliverables in reviewing JPK and other associated engineering design developed by engineers, vendors and engineering business partners. • Provides expert-level support for operational I&C issues across facilities. • Supports troubleshooting of process control systems, safety systems, analyzers, instrumentation and fire & gas systems. • Advises operations and maintenance teams on I&C engineering aspects of equipment and plant performance. • Participates in incident investigations and provides technical input for corrective actions.
• A minimum of Bachelor degree in Electrical, Control Systems, or related Engineering field. • Minimum of 7-10 years' experience in Instrumentation and Control (I&C) engineering, including at least 3 years in operational and maintenance support, as well as pre-commissioning and commissioning activities. • Achieved or exceeded English level 3 on TCO proficiency scale. • Demonstrate good oral and written communication skills to all levels of management • Proven skills in technical interactions with vendors and contractors. • Onshore Upstream Oil and Gas Instrumentation and Controls equipment and materials specification and selection for sour service. • Strong knowledge of control systems, instrumentation, analyzer and functional safety (IEC 61511). • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex systems and lead technical investigations. • Broad knowledgeable in Company, CVX and industry standards codes and regulations related to I&C equipment (including IEC, ISA, IEEE, API, NFPA, ISA, AGA, ANSI & ROK). • Experienced in troubleshooting instrument problems, providing detailed engineering support, incident investigation, and commissioning support (when required) for Stand Alone and Product Portfolio Projects. • Knowledge of different Process & ESD control systems (e.g. Allen Bradley; Honeywell, HIMA etc.) and different communication protocols from end devices to PLCs. • Experience with specifying and selecting equipment for new and modified systems and guiding others on critical selection criteria of field equipment and instruments e.g., sizing control valves, design of interface level, flow, pressure, temperature measurement, etc. • Broad experience of project cycle: Concept selection, FEED, Detail Design, Follow-on Engineering and Close-out • Knowledgeable in latest developments and current best practice in Instrumentation and Controls Engineering. • Experience writing and updating Instrumentation and Control systems specifications and standards is required. • Has a good understanding of and applies knowledge of related disciplines (i.e. Operations, Health Environment and Safety (HES), business development, Reliability, Maintenance etc.)
